Barbie, do you work in London? Passports were commonly asked for ( I guess it varies by PCT?) Hell even social workers were meant to ask for passports if a child had been abused, if not- dont protect them.

Absolutely true a couple of years ago- I left after this!

the government wants the front line to police, report and arrange deportation for people who "were not meant to be here"

I didnt become a social worker to act like border force.

...it's all about "recourse to public funds"...they have to check carefully these days as there are so many health tourists...I knew a woman who lived in the U.S. but came over here every time she was about 8 months pregnant ...went into labour over here and saved herself thousands of dollars...it's been tightened up recently though...possibly they have you mixed up with someone else...see your M.P...
