Hi.
I am 31. OH is 26. OH is civil servant and has civil service pension. My salary is roughly around 55k before tax.
I am looking at taking a pension plan. Tilting towards aviva pension plan through cavendish online. How is for any reason I need to stop payments towards pension, does personal pension plan allow me to do so.
I am employed by private pharmaceutical firm and in future I might get into self-employment. At the moment my employers pays me annually 500 pounds towards pension.
while applying for personal pension plan, in the employers contribution section should my present employer fill in the details or I need to disclose it in any other way.
I have researched a bit about pensions. I should confess I am not sure on the finer details. If there is something obvious I am overlooking please post in your reply.
I have not discussed pension options with my employer. But one of my colleague who has came to conclusion that, the options offered were not better then privately offered ones.

Which version of the aviva pension are you looking at? Most allow you to stop and restart. What is it about Aviva made you choose them?while applying for personal pension plan, in the employers contribution section should my present employer fill in the details or I need to disclose it in any other way.
If they are going to pay into the pension then their details are needed and their signature. But one of my colleague who has came to conclusion that, the options offered were not better then privately offered ones.
If the company are willing to pay the same amount into your own pension instead of their nominated one then usually your own will be better.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
