Smoking ban isn't the cause [of pub closures] either.

Repeating the lie, no matter how often, doesn't make it true you know.

Using information from a respected industry database, researchers found that the number of pub losses demonstrate a very close statistical relationship between the introduction of smoking bans and the acceleration of the decline of the British pub.

This relationship, says the report, is considerably stronger than those that could be attributed to other factors such as the recession, alcohol duty or supermarket competition.

Researchers found a striking similarity in the rate of closures in Scotland, England and Wales following the introduction of smoking bans in each country.

Smoking ban may accelerate pubs decline but isn't the cause ... decline means they were already in decline B4 the smoking ban..

Although in your favour I know the dutch have postponed the EU directive smoking ban in their cafes and pubs. Mr Cameron could reverse it here especially if as I wish we leave the EU.

I do think that pubs could have a smoking room or special bar and one for non smokers, I see nothing wrong in that.

Also did you know that the House of Commons is one place where the bar doesn't have a smoking ban! I know I heard this somewhere & someone correct me if I'm wrong. I think it was my Daily Mail.
  • I dont want to come across as a hater and slate things all the time, so i just wanted to say that this is what a poll should be all about.... choosing what means more to you.

Well done that man/woman for correcting the previous absurd poll!

VAT, given that it is largely optional. With a reduction in fuel duty to balance out the effect on petrol.
