T-Mobile £15 and Lowell

Long story short: I was wrongly issued a default by T-Mobile for £15 circa 2004, after much ado I eventually got them to cave in and remove the default in 2009.
After chasing Lowell they have decided 'oops we received an email from T-Mobile in 2009 saying the default was to be removed'. Obviously I asked them to update my file to reflect.
What they have done is update the file as settled/satisfied, which is good as useless as it no different to the defult remaining in the view of a lender. Aside from this ridiculous default my credit file is spotless.
I feel like I'm hitting a brick wall. What options do I now have to get it removed as it is the only thing standing between me and perfect credit.
Thanks in advance.

What is the exact default date shown as on your credit reports?
If it's 2004 it should have dropped off anyway, as data only stays on there for 6 years.Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
The default is stated as beginning in may 2006 by Lowell, which means it doesn't expire until next year.0

You originally said that the default was issued by T-Mobile in 2004 and got them to "cave in". I assume you'll have the confirmation in writing confirming they agree to remove the default? If so, write to them (recorded delivery) and ask them to remove the default, as per their letter.
If they do nothing, get a copy of the letter to the CRAs and get them to investigate it.0
