Help! Need vegan recipes that dont have onion or garlic

I have a friend coming to stay who doesnt eat meat, fish, eggs, onion or garlic. Our normal diet makes it very difficult to cook things, can anyone suggest any interesting things to cook for him.

Thanks
Dharmesh

    Good Morning!
I knew a chap in Nottingham who had similar dietary requirements: go here:
    http://www.harekrsna.com/practice/prasadam/recipes/wsabji7.htm
and you'll find recipes that are vegetarian and without onions & garlic.
Asafoetida is mentioned in a lot of the recipes, it is easier to get than it used to be: you can get a turmeric and asafoetida mix in a yellow container which is significantly cheaper and does the same job.

  • You know, he might just be fine with beans on toast as well?

Or make a veggie bean salad and serve on jacket potato.

    Salad.

Soups. Cook veg and blitz. Carrot and coriander will be one to try. Check whether he eats ginger, as this makes life a bit easier.

Vegan biscuits - normal recipes, use vegan margarine instead. Some have veg oil to start with.

Killer tomato sauce - tinned toms, cinnamon, cumin, coriander fizzed in a little oil, add tom paste if you want. Leave to bubble away. Serve with seeded bread (poppyseed pide or sesame are good dipped in). Add garam masala and/or chilli, saffron, haldi if you want to go towards the curry side of things. A few soaked sultanas, mango or pineapple chutney go well. Could add mushrooms if he likes them - or drop little cubes of tofu in.
