Any idea's for keeping stuff off the floor?

Just been advised to post this on this board, I have it over on OS at the moment.
Can anyone help me with a 'make-do' idea to keep stuff off the floor to keep it dry please?
I live in a small flat and have a very large cupboard, and as we all know a bit of space is soon filled!
In the top of the cupboard is a small water tank. In the last 4 yrs, for no known reason (plumbers) it has leaked when I have been away from home more than a few days at a time
Its obviously something to do with not using it.
Normally in this cupboard I keep suitcases, the Vax washer, odd bits of tinned paint, flower vases, summer fan, dehumidifier etc:
In the past I have kept boxed things, come home and the boxes are so damaged I've had to throw out the items.
I did think of a wooden or plastic pallet to raise the stuff off the floor, but can't seem to find anywhere to buy just the one and they are expensive.
Does anyone have any idea of what I could use cheap/free, or where I can buy a reasonably priced single pallet please?
Thanks in advance
LL

should you not be looking to cure the leak (or condensation) first?
as for the pallet. i see them everywhere. mostly free to the collector.
just go behind any retail store/park.Get some gorm.0 -

My tank is leaking... Cure? Lift everything off the floor so it doesn't get wet!... There, fixed it!0 -
I would be more intetested in getting the leak fixed.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I think the OP might mean from this line
"In the last 4 yrs, for no known reason (plumbers) it has leaked when I have been away from home more than a few days at a time"
That plumbers can't find a reason for the leak?
Trying to give them the benifit of the doubt here!0 -
It sounds like the inlet valve has a slight leak on it,which under normal usage isn't an issue as the level off the tank is being reduced all the time. When it isn't being used, the level of the tank rises and then discharges through the overflow. It would appear that the overflow is at fault - the rubbers may be perished, the pipe may have a small hole in it etc.
Don't think its rocket science to get it fixed.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

Surely the ballcock just needs adjusted then? It shoudn't be using the overflow at its normal level?0
