Small fitting clothes

I'm really struggling to find clothes that fit me nowadays. I was a 6/8, now a lot of 6's are too big for me, even though I've actually put on weight recently. Clothes sizes seem to have got larger in the past year.
The petite ranges in stores are usually too short for me, and when they create 'petite' clothes no one seems to think about the neck line which 9 times out of 10 is hanging somewhere down my waist!
Does anyone have any ideas for small fitting clothes for a 20-something-year-old? Ideally, independent stores/designers? I've pretty much exhausted the high street.
Cheers

Don't know where about's in Yorkshire you are but have you tried Pink Cadillac in Huddersfield? They may do? Or Lala's boutique in Bingley, or Halifax has a shop in the centre that sells alot of fashion brands but i'm sure a girl I used to know went to these places. Random one but seen Asda started stocking size 4 too near me also?
Hope this helps xMarried the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140 -
I am near Huddersfield. The last time I went in PC was about two years ago and it had gone a bit 'clubby' for me. I guess I'm looking for something that's not clubby but not granny-wear either.
I haven't heard of Lala's so I'll check that out, thanks.
Asda do stock small sizes but the range is quite small usually. Will have another look though.

I've now tried Asda - everything was brown or black, not very inspiring. Plus for some reason all the clothes had a greasy chip odour.
Primark now seem to have introduced a size 6 which seems alright, found a summer dress yesterday, but with it being Primark it's a bit hit and miss.
I had a fit in Dorothy Perkins - the prices have gone up a lot! Fifteen pounds for a vest top which anywhere else would cost under a tenner. It'd be ok if it were good quality but it looked like a rag that'd go baggy in seconds.0 -
Adams? Pumpkin Patch?
Sorry:rotfl:

The teen range at BHS - been there, done that ...
I haven't got so desperate that I'm considering Adams ...!0 -
H&M do women's size 4 (if you look carefully) jeans and trousers which are the only ones that fit my tall, skinny 13yr old. They are smaller round the waist than the equivalent children's size0
