on the sick

hi, ive just been signed on the sick for ( up to now ) 2 weeks . my first time in 15 years this is why i dont no the score. I have 2 days holiday booked for next week , and i will be due to start back on 4th April when the new holiday year starts. do you reckon ill loose the two days hols or is that up to the company

    Ask if the two days can be carried over into next years leave allowance , some firms will do this so its worth asking..

    No - not unless you get more that the statutory minimum holiday!

    Why do people post "advice" when they don't know the answer :mad:

    You cannot legally lose statutory holiday as a result of being off sick. If your firm give more than the statutory 28 days per year then there MAY be contractual rules affecting the EXTRA holiday.

    If your company is only paying you Statutory Sick Pay then it could be worth asking if you can be paid in full for those pre-booked days rather than lose them.

    However, Uncertain is right, if not allowing you to take the leave forward means that you would have had less than the statutory 5.6 weeks, they have to let you do so.
