Sold an item which has broke 3months later...

I sold a new item at the start of January, it was brand new, 3 months later I get an email saying it is not working properly. I advised the buyer to contact microsoft as it will be covered under 1year warranty with them and gave them my receipt for the item which was purchased at Argos. They are telling me I should be sorting it out as they bought the item from me.
Where do I stand?

Depends how many new items you have sold, If it was a one off and you are a genuine private seller then
continue to offer them the receipt so they can get a replacement. Issue may arise if you paid by card.
They may need the card to credit the payment back.
If you have sold other new items they may claim you are a business seller and i would expect you to sort out
the replacement.
How long had you had it before selling it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
You mihgt have a problem sorting it out with Argos if they have the receipt - surely they can take it to a nearby store with said receipt? Advise them that it may well be quicker that way. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I sold it on playtrade, it was a month old when I sold it I have sent the receipt so they could sort it out themselves, but if its under microsoft warranty can't they call them ?I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something0 -
The retailer should always be the first port of call, they are the ones responsible for the warranty. You only go to the manufacturers when you get no luck from the retailer. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
