London (or nearby) wedding dress shops

I think I did promise to update on some other places, just for others who may look!
Maid in Heaven - conveniently this is really close to LoveUForever, so if you go out that way you can go to both. Maid in Heaven was very nice - and the lady there knew what she was doing, and showed me a few really nice dresses. Only a smallish range of larger sample sizes, but enough to try some on. They seemed to only have strapless gowns though. I am looking for strapless, but to be honest I would have liked the option to try on some other styles.
Quite different to the one I liked before - much more floaty, which has just emphasized that I have no real preference. This is going to be hard!
The shop itself wasn't quite as nice as the first one, nor as private, but still perfectly nice.
I then went to another at Walton-on-Thames. I won't name it (not really fair) but it really didn't work for me. Felt very cheap, and dresses were quite shop soiled. Having said that, they did have a good range, and seemed to have a basic sample size of 14-16, which I could try on. But with the number of people there, and the general feel of the place, it just felt a bit like being in an expensive Primark!
Last one was Belles Bridal in Woking, which we got to quite late (4.15) but no complaints and they were super friendly despite the time. The girl serving wasn't quite as knowledgeable as some of the other ladies - she picked a terrible option that didn't fit as a wildcard! - but her happy enthusiasm was really lovely. Really pleased that was the last shop, as it reminded me how fun it could all be. There were a few options there, and that was where I tried on the coloured dress. Just can't decide if it's a bit too weird...
So, a pretty successful day, although it has probably just raised more questions! Hopefully one more trip this weekend and I will choose one.
The one other I went to the weekend before was Heavenly bodies bridal in Catford. Really great place to get up your comfort with the whole experience. It is only for larger sizes, and it's actually in a (very nice) converted section of her house. Completely separate to the main living, so it feels like a private boutique. So it's great in that it is completely private, and the lady gives you 1.5hours completely by yourself. She has a big range of dresses, and made me try on lots of shapes and styles, just to prove what worked and what didn't. She knew from the start which one I would like, so made me wait to try it on last! And she was totally right of course.
I probably won't go back as it took me over 2 hours to come home, but if the location wasn't quite so bad I would be back there for sure.0 -
just thought I would share that after more nerves than necessary I have bought the dress!!
So I am really pleased! Job done, and now can't wait to see it perfectly fitted and ready to get married in.
