Having read lots of the warnings about working from home companies, ie. Automated Home Profits. I just wondered if any one knows of any typing work that could be done from home for any legitamate companies, or are they all scams?

If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks.

Claire - you could set up your own business working from home as a Virtual Assistant, that way you could legitimately do typing for companies at home and you could charge them for that work.
  • No need to ask anywhere else.

I'll answer for you right now, all of them are scams, provide me with the links and I can categorically rule them out for you. Also if you're clicking on these sites through no fault of your own (most people do and are naive) they can sometimes download spyware/malware to your PC. Make sure you download Ad-Aware to get rid.

Pity you couldn't answer correctly then. Yes there are scams out there but there are also genuine companies offering working at home jobs too.
About three years ago I read a post on here from a guy who said he thought he had found a genuine working at home job-I was sceptical -but followed his postings about it as he went through application, training , first pay day during training and starting work. Made my own enquiries about the company too-and three years later both I and the OP still work for the company.

The genuine work at home jobs DO exist -but you do need to sort out the wheat from the chaff! The Up Your Income forum here will probably be useful for you OP

Alot of web hosting companies hire remote support staff and various other positions - just a case of looking around to see whats on the go, obviously if thats your thing.

    You talking to me ?

Simple enough to research-I've even mentioned the correct forum here-and people should always do their own research anyway to avoid scams rather than just blindly follow links.

  • Hi,

Ive posted this on another thread too, not sure where to put it TBH

My missus is looking for work on a short term basis and has found this company dataentryclub. Its processing emails etc. They're looking for £10 up front. I've got the feeling its either a scam or its hundreds of work for little reward?

Anyone any advice or used this company, the website aint the most professional looking.

    Cheers

I should just like to add, I also work from home and for the same company as Duchy and her OP ;) There are legit jobs working from home but unfortunately yes there are a LOT that will take advantage. Basically if it sounds too good to be true, then generally it is! The job we do is just above minimum wage so its no get rich quick scheme and if you're after one of those then you will be scammed!! Sad but true :(
  • why can't thos who work from home in a legit way post the company they work for?
