I've noticed the lack of reductions in my usuals - Sainsbury's & Asda, in all sections.
Bread - practically pointless - they don't seem to reduce the amount any more - I have seen them bag all the bread and sling it in the bakery a number of times - off to the skip I would think.
Veg and fruit - seems not to have the great reductions - still think 69p for some small bananas is criminal!!
Meat & dairy - I was lucky a few evenings ago, but that was a rarity.
I do wonder what more we can cut down on!!!0 -
I usually shop in sainsburys & have been moaning for a while at their pointless reductions, I've been in 7pm ish & their meat's been reduced by 50p. I did get some sausages in my local coop the other day for half price.
Certainly nowhere near as good as they used to be.0 -
Asda here seem to have changed their policy on reducing things to 5p at 8pm, which is a bit of a bummer!0

Could be a couple of reasons, 1 less stock is being ordered which means less to reduce
2 much better code checking is done
or
3 stock over a certain number is disposed of
it could of course be something completly different since i dont work at co op0 -
We still have good reductions in our Tesco, tonight I managed to buy £46.00 worth of food for £3.90,you have to fight for it though,a lot more people are bargain hunting.I also got 2 bunches of flowers that should of been £10 each for 50p each.0

I really think it is down to the each shop and the managers.
I popped in to a sainsburys on my way home from work last night.
And it had 1% milk 4pts for 25p each. New loose pots down to 10p per kilo. And as few other bits and pieces I picked up.
Not too bad prices.
it is just luck of the draw.

In our local co-op it depends which supervisor/manager is on duty.Owing £4359.71 as at 22/03/110

It seems totally random - I was in tesco yesterday and the meat in packaging was all about 10% off, the meat from the butcher counter was 50% off - guess which I bought???
One morrisons near us does great fruit and veg reducations early, the other nothing to speak of til 6.
But yes the days of a 50p whole shoulder of lamb seem to be long gone!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

i agree
store are still offering the yelow stickies BUT they offer them earlier in day and for less off
and your right people buy them then
example had 12 fairy cakes normally 99p reduced at 10am to 85p and people taking them
where as ive been in at 4pm and seen them at 1/2price or less at that time
so as some one said there reducing the stuff but by far less in one go
and i too have walked in doors having bought whole chickens for 50p - id love to find those now0
