Just said that he needed to set up a payment plan. I said that they were asking for £50 a month and I couldnt afford it, so he asked what i could afford. I said £25 and he said that was fine. he then set up the direct debit and it was all done. He said not to call the office as they are useless but to call him directly if any problems. One my direct debits didnt come through so have arranged for him to pick up the cash from the house and he will sign my payment book, so they are not all nasty.
He was obviously new.0 -
I had someone from Moorcroft visit me too - a good while back. He turned up with a clipboard and a rental car fleece; guess he didnt want to look like a debt collector lol
Anyway I told him I was paying what I could afford every month and that I would only deal with Moorcroft in writing as I did with all my creditors. To my relief he accepted this and went away. He wasnt the least bit threatening although perhaps I was getting the 'nice guy act' but he wasnt a threatening bruiser fortunately....No further visits thankfully.Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -
It's a pity you cannot tell the plods you think he's an over-eager kiddy-fiddler
I love the sentiment, but seriously, don't do this. Child abuse reports aren't taken seriously enough as it is. Please can people reconsider before making knowingly false reports. If Baby P's Dad had been taken seriously the boy might have lived. False reporting fuels the kind of cynicism that lets kids die.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

He just LOOKS like a Lion.
Mangy and moth-eaten?That prat out on the drive was effectively an Avon lady in a suit/polo shirt. In fact, that's a nice thought... Do you reckon he's got a string of pearls on? Frilly knickers maybe? Bit of Soft Musk on his wiffy bits?
And the first thing he'll do when he gets home will be to rip off his wife's knickers as they've given him a really painful wedgie?0 -

I did try to suggest it should not be done.
However, one might report that specimen to the plods if he spent more than a few seconds looking at one's car, and especially if he tried the car door handles or if there had been a spate of vehicular thefts in the area.0 -
If he is married then I bet his wife 'really' looks forward to hime coming home at night - NOT
What a sad man he must be to feel the need to intimidate a pregnant woman. TO55ERI don't make mistakes! I make prophecies which immediately turn out to be wrong...............0 -
this situation looks messy. One thing that comes to mind (from working in healthcare) is for the OP to please please please try not to get stressed. Remain calm and do whatever you can to relax - even if it means having baths with soothing music and herbal tea etc. these !!!!!!!s go around intimidating people getting us stressed all for money. fair enough the money is owed but stress on a pregnant mother is not healthy for your baby.
I had moorcroft try to threaten me with the court division and i firmly told them on the phone my situation - authority and assertiveness in my voice, then told them that was my situation (ie no money coming in and not on benefits) and whether they want to go to court they can but I would like it recorded that i made this call for the court evidence that I am not running away and ignoring phone calls/letters. they offered me a settlement figure - think it was 25-30% off the debt so i paid up. Job done.
Moorcroft...what a company?! if they want to be intimidating and threatening fine, but if you dish it out you must be willing to take it back.0
