What did you ask the first time you viewed venue?

Going to view one on Saturday, Might stay quiet and see what they have to offer, have a think and then e-mail them once I've thought about things.

I'm sure I should ask something though

There are a few threads about this topic in the forum, worth having a search.

A few basics:
Costs (venue hire, food, drinks, corkage etc)
Maximum / Minimum numbers allowed
Do you get exclusive use.
What dates do they have availiable.

And if there's anything specific that you want (eg fireworks) is it allowed.

1. Is your venue available on the required date?
2. How long will they hold your date before you have to pay a deposit?
3. Payment - method, instalments, deposits, when is balance due?
4. Is there a Master of Ceremonies included in price? If not how much does one cost?
5. Is there any where to take the pictures if it's raining?
6. Do they set up for you?
7. Will the venue be decorated for Christmas?
8. Do you allow candles?
9. Do you allow scatter crystals?
10. Can you devise your own menu?
11. Do they do menu tastings?
12. Is there a minimum spend at the bar?
13. What time do you serve alcohol until?
14. What time entertainment has to stop
15. When does the room need to be cleared by?
16. Are there areas which can be used as a quieter/chill out area
17. Do you have a room where presents can be stored until we can collect them, and are you insured against loss or damage?

Yes. I arranged my list so that there was space for answers, then printed one off for each venue as we arranged visits.
