My debt plan should have ended (Payplan)

I have been with paying off my debts with payplan for six years. Some of my creditors had started charging interest as I don't have a bad wage and was able to start meeting the minimum payment. I have had a few issues with payplan namely they take the money out of my account on the 1st and my creditors don’t get it until the 20th sometimes which causes late payments and charges.
Secondly I have known since last year that my job is under threat and I informed payplan of this straight away. I am now in my 90 day consultation period and I have been given a date of 30th June 2010. As soon as I got my date which coincided with the expected date that my plan was finishing I let them know. When I started with Payplan they informed me that they would get in touch with my creditors and ask them to take the interest off and charges once my end date approached. They said that they could not guarantee this but they would try. They have not done this instead they have added another 17 months to the plan and told me that when I am made redundant to get in touch.
I am really frustrated. I got into debt during a very rough period of my life and I have diligently done without so many things in my attempt to pay off my debts. Once I knew redundancy was looming I couldn’t believe that I would be lucky enough to stay in employment long enough to finish my plan. I just feel that it is really irresponsible to not let the people I owe money to that I will not be earning after June.
I am trying really hard to find another job but I am chronically ill and disabled and a lot of employers won’t even look at me for jobs. I was lucky to get a good job before I got too ill and have stayed in it by the skin of my teeth for the last 7 years.
I just really don’t know what to do. Should I get in touch with my creditors myself and inform them and try to get them to take the interest off and charges?
Any advice would be appreciated.
