Aww yeah, they always used to bring us back kimberley biscuits, you can get them somewhere here but I've forgotten now lol, didnt realise pink lemonade was Irish but he wouldnt drink that. This is gonna be harder than I thought, although was looking on Ebay and found a nice Irish linen shamrock tea towel that could go in.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

https://www.spailspin.com sell Irish-themed cards for 6.99 euros. https://www.ipcc.ie/enviroshopgifts5.html sells Irish wildlife cards for 5.99 euros.
https://www.buy4now.ie/carrolls sells Irish gifts (including singing leprechauns that look SO cute!!!).
If you could buy a celtic-looking frame for a photo of your FIL outside his Irish home, or something similar, would be really appreciated I'm sure.
Best of luck.

To be honest theres nothing as nice as home made wheaten and soda bread, also I would suggest ordinary tayto crisps not the onion rings, Jamesons is a definately a good suggestion and maybe an irish scratch card?
I'm in Armagh if you want you can pm me and if you want things posted I'd do it for you, I've family in england that I always send barrys tea too lol

that's because eastlands is one of the areas where the old irish settlements were in manchester (angel meadow and the like) - a lot of irish still live around there. It's like in longsight there's a huge halal range. You're only likely to find an irish section where there are a lot of irish settlers - ie manchester and liverpool mainly.
One thing that might be nice is some framed art-prints of irish landmarks.0 -
Was thinking of doing an Irish basket for my FIL. He is disabled, has no hobbies and is diabetic. He spends 3 months in the summer at his house in Ireland, the rest of the time he lives here. He wants to go back there to live but his wife still works here (and doesnt really want to go!)
We're always stuck with what to get him, so I thought an Irish hamper might go down well. Not sure if I'll be able to get much though, so ideas please.
Was thinking
soda bread
barm brack (both in Tesco or M&S)
what else?
Good Idea with the hamper. I got my grandmother a hamper last year and she loved it. It introduced her to some of those foods grandparents eat like shortbread biscuits and puddings. I'm thinking of ordering another one this year. Seen it on a site. Hold on a sec.

Not sure if I can leave a link like that, but sure that's where I seen the one I'm thinking of ordering. I've looked around and seems to be a decent price for what is in it.
Best of luck with it.0 -
Ryanair have a £1 sale on at the moment and so depending on where you fly to depends on prices. Got loads from Newcastle-Dublin for £1 each way!
My OH lives in Dundalk so I'm forever over there, if you need anything just PM me and we can post it to you.
Good luck with it *secretly wishes she had an Irish relative to make a hamper for*0 -
