Hi guys had no idea where to put this, anyway my partner got a tax rebate cheque a couple of days ago but she forgot the thing was in her pocket and put it through the wash, just little traces left of the cheque, will HMRC put a stop on this cheque and replace it without any hassles if we call in the morning ?

Thanks

they will cancel and reissue, as is a general theme on here its not a quick process, A cancellation order will be put on the cheque, once that is confirmed as being cancelled / not cashed the a replacement cheque will be issued.

Expect approx 6 weeks from when you cancel it to a replacement being reissued.
