Think I'll cook tea tonight, something really simple like: soup (whatever veg is in the fridge or freezer) pasta bake (using pasta, tinned tomatoes and cheese on top) and Angel Delight which I just spotted in the cupboard.

Soup will also do for tomorrow for mum's lunch :)

I tend to do a small daily list and do the big cleans in two stages - one on a Saturday morning and one on a Wednesday morning. To do a fairly detailed clean used to take 2-3 hours on each cleaning session; last Wednesday and this saturday I spent a total of 45 minutes cleaning and got through each area in that time:j

    Dailies:
    · Neaten beds
    · Binbag dance (empty all bins)
    · ALL the dirty laundry to the wash baskets
    · Tidy away toys and clothes strewn about
    · Tidy up coats, bags and shoes!
    · Tidy shelves
    · Make sure diaries/calendars are up to date with appointments!
    · 5mins filing - decant all the miscellaneous papers and bits into a box.
    · 5 mins hotspot prevention / cure
General (Saturday) – hit list included
Dust / deweb ceilings, light fittings, light bulbs, picture rails, coving etc in all rooms
Dust and polish surfaces in all rooms
Declutter, sweep and mop bathroom and kitchen floors.
Declutter and vacuum hallways, stairs, bedrooms and living room (from top to bottom) and under what furniture I can safely move
Wash windows and clean window sills in bathroom, bedrooms and living room
Polish mirrors & wipe pictures in all rooms
Load WM then hung out on washing line

    Bathroom
    Scrub bath, sink and loo
Throw away all the empties and put new toiletries in the bathroom in the correct places.
    Bedrooms
    Strip, wash and replace bedding
Tidy away homeless clothes and shoes and bags
    Hallway and stairs
    Clean cabinet drawers
Sort out a shelf on the linen unit - Organise the towels and spare bedding
    Kitchen and Dining area
    Declutter and wipe work surfaces
Wipe ALL the units and appliances (inc oven and hob)
    Clean out and scrub fridge
Clean table and add a clean cloth if needed
    Children’s/spare rooms
Sort through a drawer / shelf of children’s clothes for items that no longer fit or are no longer wearable

I've got a miscellaneous extras list that I try to do three or four things from at the end of my Saturday or Wednesday list with the aim of getting everything crossed off at least 4 times a year!
    · Wash out all bins
    · Mend an item I have been putting off
    · HHI
    · Check when appointments are due for dentist, opticians, smears etc... Make notes in diaries/calendars
    · Sort services/chimney sweepings and suchlike
    · Sort paperwork, warranties, insurance docs, phone contracts etc into a file so they are easily accessible and make a note of when things need renewing on calendar!
    · Change any dead light bulbs
    · Medical box - restock and inventory (calpol, paracetamol etc)
    · If you are able/weather permitting do your necessary garden jobs.
    · Check smoke alarms on landings and kitchen.
    · Wipe and water the plants
    · Finish/do a small DIY job
    · Sort through the box of miscellaneous belongings.
    · Clean out pongy pets
    · Sock pairing session; pair up as many as I can!
    Kitchen and Dining area
    · Order and organise the spices and sauces.
    · Sort the cutlery drawer and sharpen knives
    · Tighten and wobbly pan handles!!
    · Wipe stainless steel so it is free from finger prints
    · Wipe cupboard doors (inside and out)
    · Wash cover from ironing board
    Bathroom
    · Clean out the toiletries cupboard
    · Disinfect the toilet brush!
    · Replace toothbrushes or sponges as necessary!
    · Make a note of anything that needs restocking
    · Declutter your make-up and bin any ancient smellies
    · Wash any shower curtains/bath mats that are in need or replace any that are manky.
    Master Bedroom
    · Sort underwear and get rid of anything unwearable
    · Mend 1 item I have been putting off for weeks!
    · Sort through one box of stuff
    · 15 minute sort out of those random bits of gibble that are strewn about the flat surfaces in your room!
    · Sort coats and shoes and bags, fling out the ones that no longer fit and note who needs new wellies & umbrellas.
    · Clear out a cupboard or a very full drawer
    · List 5 things to sell/giveaway
    Children’s/spare rooms
    · Wash any smelly dressing up clothes/sticky teddies/dirty dollies
    · Make sure games are in boxes and books are straight on shelves
    · Wash duvets/curtains etc if not been done for a while

  • all done for today bar the windows and the wood work.
    kitchen fairly done too.:eek::eek:
evening plans now on hold as I cant keep anything down - where the heck did that come from in the last hour??
    I feel okay? Weird!

Supposed to be off out with the MiL tomoz early but we'll have to see.
If I am okay - or if I can talk DH into it, might finish that kitchen :)

Ohh and for anyone who's curious Charlie chick is lovely and huge and doing great.
The second clutch of eggs I had only one hatched again but it wasn't right, poor little chicky held out a few days but in the end looks like Charlie is meant to be an only chicky until he goes out with the girls (I keep saying he ... it behaves like a girl FINGERS CROSSED :T)

ETA: Enjoy it JoJo!! I'm sure you'll be great!

You've all been mega busy today :T Well done gals, now, will someone please come and do mine :D

What a day, first off I couldn't get into the customers house this morning as key wouldn't work, text him and after 45 mins he jiggled the key and voila, gonna have fun with that every week lol cleaned at full pelt and non-stop for 3 hrs, place looks lovely but still lots to do. Then got home and got a call from my Friday lady asking if I could go round straight away for an emergency clean, yeah ok, so plods off there. Got home DD1 and future SIL were waiting, they'd come for a visit, entertained them, as you do, they went, I flopped down and then filled in the census so that's all done.....and here I am, brains switched off I'm exhausted lol

Gotta shuffle into the kitchen shortly to find summat for tea BOO!
