I am running a winxp system and am starting to get fed up with windows explorer. For years I have not had a problem but over the past few months Windows explorer starts to slow mp PC to a crawl. This happens when I run it and begin to move and manipulate my files and folders. Cpu usage often tops 50% ans stays high even when I close explorer. The only way to get back to normal is to shut down the process via the task manager and then restart it again.
Any ideas why this happens? Could it be a virus? Scans have not found anything.
