First time buyer ?

Just wanting to know if we are now considered first time buyers again. We emigrated to Australia back in 1998 but had our own property for 4 years prior to that.

Now back and looking to buy again but don't want to apply as 1st timers if we are not.

no you're not a FTB

For stamp duty purposes you're not a FTB as you have previously owned property.

Some mortgage lenders have FTB deals which have different definitions, e.g. not currently an owner. Those deals aren't always a good deal but you'd need to consider each one separately.
