Taking it too far

My debt isn't too bad - I can meet all the monthly payments etc but I've still been trying to be as frugal as possible to get it done asap and well - seems like a good habit not to waste money. My issue is that it's been making me really snappy with my OH. I had a go at him yesterday for eating all the biscuits I'd bought for example. I'm sure some of this is down to PMT given the day but I'm worried I'm becoming a bit obsessive about saving. Does anyone else have this problem? How do I keep my worries about money from ruining my relationship?

It's good to be frugal but everyone needs a treat sometimes so factor a small amount for treats into your monthly budget.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

Explain to him that as you are married, they are his worries, too.0 -

Clearly your level of debt is worrying you, even though you can meet the monthly payments - sounds like it would be worth you doing an SOA and a spending diary just to get a clearer picture of how bad / good it actually is.
You don't need to tell your OH about it just yet but it would help you work out what treats you can actually afford.
I too could meet the monthly payments quite comfortably, until the goalposts moved in the credit crunch - I'd never bothered adding everything up until I suddenly found I was struggling. Getting a proper grasp of my debt and budget meant I was able to relax more and became much less touchy about money.Long-haul Supporters DFW 120

Even more reason why he shouldn't eat all your biscuits.0
