part time jobs held for short periods - worth mentioning?

Hello

I am applying for a job in banking. I held a job for 3 months about 5 years ago in a similar role but gave it up as my husband's job was quite demanding and it wasn't working out with his hours. I then got another part time job straightaway that was just a few hours a week that worked out better. I held that one for 6 months and then we moved to a different area. Since then I have had a part time bar job and self employed childminder. The self employment is very quiet so looking for a job now. I don't know whether to mention the similar job I held for 3 months - whether it will be useful or whether it will look like I don't stick at things for long.

Any employers on here who can advise? Things are different now as my husband doesn't have same job and we are not about to move.

anyone?
thanks

  • I have previously had a similar spate of temporary supply teaching posts, and rather than list them individually I put dates and then 'held a variety of temporary placements which included.....

Perhaps you could do something similar mentioning the specific post that you want to make the potential employer aware of. It's always worth mentioning any relevant experience in this very competitive job market.

thank you soupdragon. The jobs weren't related. One in banking, then local authority education sector, then more recently in catering. Reality is you take what you can get with the hours that suit your needs (ie. kids!). It's then hard to justify a thought about career structure.
