Dying Zapp Pushchair Covers & Hood- HELP!??

I have a Hot Pink Quinny Zapp pushchair.... unfortuantly i now have a boy!

I love this little buggy and it lives in the car and we have been using it in travel system mode with the car seat but Lewis's head is about 1cm from the top of seat so will have to change to the stationary seat for the car to keep him rear facing.. he's only 7m but a big boy!

Anyways.... do you think i could dye the pink covers with a black or navy dye? i have had them through the washer before and there wasnt any problems.

They are slightly marked with a little bit of mould starting to grow from being stored badly so have no resale value on ebay so i wouldnt be loosing anything if it went wrong

Has anybody dyed synthetics sucessfully? which product would be best machine, hand or cold water?

or should i go and buy the new sparkly zapp xtra seat unit.... which would then leave my big pram redundant!!!!

Sorry no help with dying but how about advertising for a swap on your local facebook for sale group? Someone might be having exactly the opposite problem!

If you can put them through the wash then that's a start. The next question is will they take the dye? The last thing you want is to find out they're 90% synthetic and then have a really messed up looking pink with navy bits in it that doesn't work for a girl or a boy. If theyhaven't got a label on them try the website. You might be lucky.

Black machine dye over hot pink works fine. Navy might come out on the purpley side, but actually that could be quite cool. Red is probably the single easiest colour to go over pink with as any bitty-ness wont show and you can probably use the packet of dye for a little more weight of fabric than it says because the colours are so similar.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(
