SERPS & Pension advise

Hi, I looking for advise, When I was 18 in about 1979 I took out a pension with I think 'Prudentual' which I paid for a few of years until I got married bought a house & had children. Money was short so I stopped paying the pension, A few years latter in the early 1990's I was advised by a 'Refuge' adviser to take out a pension & opt-out of SERPS.... which I did, but a few years latter I we were reposessed & obviously couldnt pay the pension. Things didnt get much easier & now we are within 6 months of finishing an IVA. So now I am looking for advise on what is recoverable & how to approch this problem

Many thanks

Both are pensions and you can not take them until you are age 55. At that point you can have a 25% tax free lump sum and buy an annuity with the rest or put the rest into drawdown.

Nothing is recoverable as you havent lost anything.
    how to approch this problem

one assumes that you have kept them up to date with your address and that you get statements from them? If not, give them your address. You then wait until you retire to commence them.
