Netvibes , what's it all about?

Options
I saw and read on BBC's Click program a piece about Netvibes.
I do not own a computer , I use the public library (free and it's not my problem if it breaks down!)
What would be useful to me would be an internet bassed page or whatever to collect interesting things and to log into first before going onto email . google etc like a personslized favorites page. Is this possible with net vibes? I couldn't really understand even the first page. Can anyone help or give me a bit of guidance.
thanks , James

Here's a link which contains a tutorial on using Netvibes. It's a single page where you can log on and have your favourite RSS feeds (news, tech stuff) etc.

I would try a more sophisticated feed reader like Google's.
If you look at the list of "feeds" for MoneySavingExpert.com, the bottom two posts have a few links.

Like this working example of the old Google Reader interface - collecting the latest stories from bbc news, digg.com and a few other sites (registered users see a new and much improved interface)

Most sites these days provide feeds that list the latest news from that site. It's where I get my daily news from a large number of sites in one place.

    :)
