Photobox problems - great offers but only if they get it right!

I ordered a Stylebook from Photobox which is their cheaper soft covered version photobook. It was on a £5 off offer so it only cost £9.99 plus P&P. Great I though and ordered one for my Grans birthday. You lay it all out on the screen and then order it so I knew exactly what it would be like when it arrived....

....or so I thought....

....when it finally arrived (late and from France?) I was v. disappointed to find that about a third of the photos had been printed on their side or with major bits (i.e. the subject matter) cropped off. Immediately I assumed I had been a plonker and got it wrong, but checked online (your book is stored incase you choose to reorder) and I found it was not me being a plonker as all the photos were correct on the screen and therefore in the order I sent to them.

I rang customer services and explained my problem. They were very suprised to hear of my experience and checked with me online and agreed that there was no problem with the info I sent and therefore it was an error on their part.

I received a replacement today. Yippee I thought, only nearly a fortnight late for my Gran's Birthday now. And guess what? Yep, this one was exactly the same as the other one!!! (Despite being assured that this would be checked and QC'd before dispatching).

I have emailed them today with photos of the pages they have messed up and asking for a correct replacement. Not heard anything yet, emailed this morning but so far just a holding email back.

Is it just me who has experienced this from Photobox???

I wanted to get some of these for Christmas pressies but know I daren't incase they mess them all up.
Irony.

The opposite of wrinkly.

  • Got mine today (from France?!) delivery took a while.. but well worth the wait it, as it will make a great Christmas present! Quality of product was higher than expected!
  • I got a couple of photos enlarged to poster size and they arrived the next day. Both photos were great.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience
Currently unemployed (redundancy) but in control of my finances and hoping to get a new job, start a Masters course and save up for a house. A tough challenge but MSE will get me through it. :)
