Dyeing bedlinen

Hello everyone, have been away from the forum for a while, have got into bad habits so am back to get into OS mode again!
I have a duvet cover which is very pale green and totally plain, I wondered if I could dye it a more interesting colour? It's polyester and cotton mixed, so don't know how it would turn out - has anyone done this and what were the results?

Polyester won't take a dye as it's not porous, so the results would be a change in colour but not the same depth as you'd get with dyeing pure cotton.

Ive just dyed 3 vallance sheets and pillowcases purple today with a dylon macjine wash dye. They came our pretty well but the thread stayed white while the fabric is purple. They look better than cream though so for 4.99 I am happy.

I dyed two light blue polycotton duvet cover sets cadbury purple. From a distance they did look as though they had taken, but up close they looked grainy, like "snow" on an untuned TV. That was about 6 years ago, I still have the duvet cover sets so it really wasn't that bad, I am told that if you didn't know you wouldn't know. It was quite a drastic change too, the original blue was like an RAF shirt. If you're using Dylon machine dye ignore the weight thing, you will get a kingsize duvet set (2 pillow cases) out of one box, it will just be a bit lighter. Again if using Dylon Amazon green comes up lovely and bright and so does Bahama Blue. I dye things a lot, regardless of the material. I work on the principle that if I didn't like it how it was things can only get better. I have about an 85% success rate with that utterly cavaleir attitude too. :rotfl:
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(
