SSP for part time worker

I am currently off work due to a pregnancy related illness and have been since 21 February, i took a weeks self certified sickness and my doctor has given me a sick line dated from 28th February for 6 weeks until I am able to start my maternity leave.
I work a lie week at work so I presumed for the past two weeks I should have been entitled to full SSP as i had already covered the 3 days without pay however I have been paid £23. Am I entitled to the full £79 if I only work 3 days or is this worked out on a daily rate for part time employees? Need to call my employer on Monday and I want to be prepared.

SSP is only paid for qualifying days, these are usually the days that you would normally work but sometimes different days are agreed, so you need to find out from your employer what your qualifying days are. The first three qualifying days will be waiting days and there will be no payment for these ( unless the waiting days have already been served within the last eight weeks before this sickness). After that you should recieve £79.15 for a full week and for any part weeks £79.15 divided by the QDs in the week times the QDs you are getting paid for.0
