Call, ask them to send you a breakdown detailing how they have come to the figure, and give them the date you will be able to make the payment which is presumably when you get paid next.

Small claims court may seem like a hassle, but large companies have proceedure regardless of the amount and small companies have bosses who will see this as you getting one over them, and will proceed even if it costs them, then you will end up with a CCJ and no mortgage if you do not pay as instructed.

As per your question of a payment plan for the sum of £45, I think you need to seriously consider if you can afford to become a homeowner along with it's unforseen expenses. Please don't take offense as it isn't meant that way, but this is a very small sum to worry about in the grand scheme of things.

Go back through ALL your pay and check what has actualy been paid agaist hours worked.

also check you have been given the correct holidays.

Then check that against their breakdown.
  • Did you sign to say they could take this advance from your wages? If not this is an unlawful deduction. I doubt they will take you to court over it. When I worked in recruitment we wrote off anything under £50 if they didn't respond to our letters.
