Over pay or save lump sum?

We have a 99% ltv...fixed rate ending in July. Have no hope of a better deal so no option tio stay on svr.
Should I make overpayments or save so we have a lump sum when looking for a new deal?
Also, an estate agent valued the house at £20k over what we owe on the mortgage so why is the mortgage company saying our ltv is 99%?
I like to track where my money is and someone recently said Halfax (who we are with) miscalculated/misplaced their overpayments so I am vervous about doing this.

Estate agents value unrealistically high, while lenders are being cautious.
If you're with halifax, you'll go onto 3.5% so you're unlikely to get a better savings rate at the moment. Overpay, and re-assess when rates go up. Halifax won't lose your overpayments - phone them up to find out the best way to do them as I was advised to always tell them I was making a capital repayment when overpaying.0
