They do tend to reface them, eg using curtain walling, which makes them look better, but they are still rectangular boxes. Not much you can do about that. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Doesnt matter what they look like or how little they may sell/rent for.
Its all about supply and demand. The more of these commercial properties turned into residential will bring greater supply to the market and the greater the supply the less demand as landlords struggle to get tenants. Rents fall, along with them average property prices.
I can see old disused commercial properties actually going up a little though.0 -
We`ll find out the details very soon.
Want to buy a very cheap commercial property to live in

If you were going the other way and converting a residential property into a commercial property - you could just build a massive garden office in your back yard! :T ( I can't post links yet but Google - Atelier garden office )0

Looking like the gov do not mind falling house prices. With lots of new builds and these commercial being made into flats and houses, supply is going to flood the market, prices will fall fast from here.0

Isnt many parts of the country already flooded with builders trying to offload flats, not sure a few more will make a significant difference.0 -

Indeed. I reckon it won't make much of a difference.
TBH when buying my flat last year I would have not likely considered converted commercial premises. In fact I did see one that was converted and it was tiny.0 -

They did a few of the 60s office block in Croydon. Stuck a bit of wood on the front and sold them as "executive apartments".0
