I used to have McAfee anti-virus until it went up and up and up in price, so now I use the totally free (and most terrific) Avast anti-virus.
I keep getting e-mails from McAfee pleading with me to to return (and to bring my money with me), but why should I when there is free software that updates daily that does it just as well?
Lots to choose from here, including anti-spyware and anti-phishing tools as well.

I'm using Microsoft OneCare at the moment. It works well, includes virus checking, phishing filters, live updates and has back up facilities.
