Pension Advice for a complete beginner!

Hi anyone who may read this
I am looking for some advice about pensions. I've read through the bits on here but shamefully I cannot make sense of it! My father is turning 60 this year & it worries me that he does not have a pension/retirement plan apart from the government one. I want to make sure that when he does retire he will at least be able to live comfortably. I know that sorting a pension plan out at this age is probably difficult but I would just be grateful for any advice. He saves regularly but this is always used on family at Birthdays & Christmas. He has always been one to look after everyone else rather than himself. He does not have any debts. I think he would possibly be able to put £100 aside a month for this. I'm also thinking about sorting something out for my partner and I. With the employment situation the way it is I feel its better to be safe than sorry. We are both in our late twenties.
Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you

The basic state pension currently pays £97.65 a week.
Theres a small calculator and information here:

£100 a month is going to make little different, but some is better than none, sometimes. I am sure someone with more knowledge will come along soon though.0
