Having Read Some Peoples Problems On Here I Do Wonder If It Is Best To Go It Alone When You Find Your Self In A Spot Of Bother ,
I Went It Alone And Dealt With Creditors, Dca, Etc And Found I Did Clear My Debts Quicker Etc. When My Advise Although Helpful In Many Ways From The Cccs Was To Apply To Go BankruptI DECIDED IT WAS NOT THE BEST OPTION ALTHOUGH WOULD HAVE BEEN A QUICKER SOLUTION.
Saying All The Above I Found Many Creditors And Dca Unwilling To Help So You Did End Up Gaining A Thick Skin , Ive Been Debt Free For A While Now What Id Did Find The Creditors And Dca Were Not Realy Bothered How It Had Occured They Reacted As Though You Were A Common Thief When As Time Went On I Found Myself Being Ripped Off And Fleaced By Creditors And Dca Companies

cccs to me were invaluable as they explained what i MUST pay and what i can get away with paying less than. and for dec cos my OH is on SSP they let us take a month off paying them i dont think creditors would have been pleased if i rang up and said i'm not paying you this month? i know that they woont be happy anyway but CCCS can explain on my behalf.. and hopefuly wont get too much hassle
i guess evry situation is different and what works for some peolpl doesnt for others.

Yes Thats True Although On Here I Do See People Who Seem Shocked When Dca Ignore CCCS , As Cccs Told Some DCA Will Not Play Ball , I Did Find Creditors Dealt With Me The Same Way As IF THE CCCS HAD CALLED THEM And I Think Some Creditors Would Have Called In Dca If I Had Gone And Got Cccs To Deal For Me , Capital One Were Very Quck To Pass To Capquest When I Said I Was Having Major Problems

Well I've decided that Payplan are the way to go for me.

Basically, I've enough income to pay my basics plus SOME debt repayment... caused by complete change in financial circumstances which I'll not go into here. The other problem I have is being a complete wreck when it comes to dealing with these people. I know I'm in the wrong, so once I get on the phone I either promise what they want to hear (even though I know I can't afford it), or cry and put the phone down. This resulted in me ignoring the calls completely for a month, sleepless nights, bouts of uncontrolable tears... I really needed someone to talk to about it and help me take control.

Answer: It depends on the person, if you have the nerve to negotiate and stand firm then go for it... unfortunately I'm a bit on the soft side.

Its best to go it alone if you can deal with the pressure. The DCA's don't phone me much if at all these days, if I was in the right mood I could argue for over an hour. Crapquest accused me of harassing them. I am free to overpay if I want and rebudget when I want.

My Rule Was Talk To Me Properly And As A Proffesional And I Would In The Main Deal, Curt And Rude Down Went The Phone I Found Curt And Rude Lasted For 6 Months Charges Got Added Then Polite And Prepared To Deal Came Next .... So Who Was Robbing Who ?

i knew that i had messed up and would agree to pay and then couldnt. i get angry then at myself so it was easier for me to pass it all to CCCS and the odd call i do get... i can handle better cos CCCS have told me what to say!

it does seem some people do need a third party to speak for them its a shame dca have trouble talking to a third party as the debtor is talking to a third party ie dca , i had trouble when i tried to get a third party to speak for me they the dca ignored him or insulted him hence why i went it alone
