  • ok so when a person says ' i've got some new foundations if you want try one oh actually they'll probably all be too light for you you negro' thats not being racist?

No different to foundations being to dark for caucasian skin. Perhaps you are arguing that we do away with all references to race.
  • I do accept that I did wrong and I am very sorry for it and I will show that in my disciplinary. I love the brand I work for and enjoyed the store until this woman started working there and since then I dont sleep properly anymore as I worry what she will say to me next.
It is just frustrating that i've been suspended for something i'm genuinely sorry for and have only ever done it once yet the bully and I have been left to work alongside each other even tough managers are aware of whats happened. I didn't want to go as far as the police but if that's what it takes then that is what it shall be as I feel it's unfair if she gets away wtih it. I am trying to leave but as soon as I leave she will start on someone else and already has but without the racism as I am the only person on the department who isn't white, my skin is slightly tanned.

She hasn't "got away with it"...you've been told it's being dealy with and hasn't concluded.

You need to concentrate on your disciplinary and let your complaint run it's course.
  • Work colleagues are generally expected to get along, not make spurious complaints about each other. I could be wrong but when you have somebody at work who is constantly looking for excuses to play the race card, this could explain why you have been suspended.

Yes that would be horrible having to work near her. Just so you know, the brand you can mention here on these forums without getting into trouble, its more like someone from your company could see your complaint and take you seriously, name and shame see? Companies hate being racist or marked as unsympathetic, especially beauty companies who can easy be reported to animal welfare groups to be scrutinised if they are testing on animals, PETA is a good one, and the PETA campaigns if they are dissing a company are strong, they go deep into celebrity status, top models support them, etc,

    Just a thought ;)
    Owed out = lots.

Who in their right mind would accuse someone of being racist for pointing out that a foundation is to light for negro skin? This is a joke surely.

Your thought is likely to get the OP summarily dismissed for bringing the company into disrepute.
    Gone ... or have I?

    It's all about context though.

Maybe its a wind up from the OP.

  • I have never played the 'race' card I genuinely feel she was out of order for saying what she said and it makes it more difficult as it is such a small store we are always near each other.
Nobody has ever said that to me before, as I say I am mixed race but my skin is slightly tanned like i've just been on holiday so I didn't expect for that to be said to me.
