Debts gone up :(

Just to say good luck, YOU CAN DO IT!
I'm in a similar pickle - my contracts ends in March 07 and I'm unsure about finding another highly paid job. So I set about paying off the credit card before the contracts ends, so that then we onlt have household bills and our car loans (next debt to pay off - but we choose to have these!)
Good luck - I'm sure you can do it!

I was a little peed off when I saw it today although I was expecting it.
Looks like we're near the same point at your debts owed - have you got a predicted DFD yet?
Well, I have a loan that I cannot make overpayments on and I have 45 payments left to go. I doubt I will ever be in a position to pay it off early.
However once I clear my overdraft (aiming for early April) and the credit card (aiming for March when the 0% interest rate runs out) then I hope that I will feel a lot happier as I will have spare cash to save for things like home improvements which our home really needs!
The £300 monthly loan repayments will feel more manageable without a bl*8dy great overdraft and stupid VISA payments every month
Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

My problem is I'm currently very specialised in research, and overpaid, so if I want to stay in research it'll be a pay cut, and if I want to move into the private sector, it'll be a new direction and a pay cut for a bit :rotfl: unless one of my contacts comes up - I'm keeping my fingers in the pies, but no luck yet.0 -

I'm a community development worker. the government seems to think we can make a real influence of changing things in 2 years - then they cut the funding and bring in a new idea and completely undo what you spent 2 years trying to achieve!

Yep, similar position. Why everyone is flocking from research when no one can get more than a 3 year contract, and getting paid peanuts, I dont know!0
