Didn't want to read and run jillthecat. Read some of the other threads and diaries of people that have been exactly where you are now and how they have managed to get over the worst and have made serious inroads into their debt, it will help you see that you are far from being alone.
Good luck and someone with something properly useful to say will come along soon.0 -
First of all, welcome to the boards, you will find a lot of help and support on here!
Now, take a deep breath, make yourself a cup of tea!! It is obvious from your post how stressed and anxious you are, it might be helpful if you could put some paragraphs into your post to make it easier.
You have made a good start by contacting CCCS and offering reduced payments. Sometimes automated letters do cross with yours, other times companies do ignore your letters for a while. The important thing is to keep paying the reduced payments, at least that shows you are trying to repay the monies.
DO NOT phone any of the companies, they will try and get you to agree to things you cannot afford. Keep all communications in writing. No amount of debt is worth taking your life for and it may be worth you contacting the Samaritans. It might also be worth making an appointment to see your GP.
With regard to Nat-west, as long as your mortgage is up-to-date, I don't think that your credit card will have any effect on this.
If you are struggling with the letters you are receiving, you could try to make an appointment with the Citizens Advice Bureau or post their content on here, without any personal information and someone will be along to help you. Once again, do not speak to anyone on the phone, there is letter you can send to this effect and I'm sure someone will be along soon who can post the link (sorry complete technophobe). It might also be worth posting up a Statement of Affairs, see sticky at beginning of board, and people will be able to advise you a bit better. Remember, no company can get what you have not got!
Take care and keep posting, it really will help.
