Not really enjoying spending money

After my business collapsed some years ago I had debts to pay back.Thankfully I had another business to fall back on and with living frugally I was able to get myself back in the black.Strangely I quite enjoyed the challenge. It meant that we had to cut back on stuff but really didn`t miss going tothe pub, holidays and things.
It turned around and we went into cash positive.Although we let the pressure off somewhat{like enjoying a holiday} it certainly has changed my mind about spending.Maybe I am perverse but I quite enjoy seeing my savings grow.I love to still do dfw things.Wow,this week because of this site I slashed my buildings insurance by more than 50%!Years ago I wouldn`t have done the rounds, happily paying over the top to my old insurance company.
Now I go to places like Matalan and really enjoy the bargains. If we have a meal out no more £25 a head, have just as much fun with an evening at Weatherspoons!Funnily enough, although my wife doesn`t come on this site she sure knows all about it.Sometimes she says,``have you thought that through, that`s not very dwf``.Lol.

I'm the same.. we're far from being Debt free.. but we're certainly feeling pressure start to ease this month because of the cuts we've made and debt's we paid off. I do, however, really struggle to justify any spending. Unless we absolutely need it I don't get it. It's strange but it makes little treats feel like proper treats and we have to really convince ourselves before we'll spend on anything that isn't essential! lol!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

One thing I have to be careful with is how I treat other family members. Most of them with fair old debts due to overspending on cars and holidays.Jokes like``is it Ok to park my ``y`` reg car outside your house, only I don`t want the ``06`` number plate police to tow me away``doesn`t always go down well.
Funny thing is,I get remarks like ``well you are Ok,you don`t have debts and you have a few bob in the bank``Hmmmm, yes bit I don`t do 3 holidays a year and take credit out for the latest car.``Sometimes I think that they see us as paupers because we don`t have Sky + or have sound surround.Oh my poor, deprived wife---lol!0
