M&S Voucher for old clothes

Just had an email from M&S that on Thursday 24 March they will give a £5 Voucher in exchange for old M&S clothes.

I know that Oxfam have done this deal before but have never heard of taking them in store before.

Do they ask for a certain amount or is it just 1 item?. Sorry for being dense.

They did this last year too. You just had to have 1 item and the voucher was £5 off a £35 spend on fashion and jewellery.
It's was the same as the Oxfam vouchers.

I think it would. They didn't even examine the items I donated last time, anyway.
  • You need the clothes to be old M&S clothes and also spend £35 before you get your voucher.

"M&S can make your unwanted clothes feel wanted again. A surprising 92% of us have clothes in our wardrobe that we just don't wear#, so why not put them to good use? Bring the M&S clothes you no longer need to our stores † on Thursday 24th March and we'll give them all to Oxfam. To show our thanks we'll give you a voucher for £5 off when you spend £35 or more on clothing, home and beauty at M&S. Please dig deep into your wardrobe and be part of something special."

That's not quite what it means. You need to spend £35 when redeeming the voucher, rather than before you can claim it.

It's basically the same terms as when donating M&S clothes directly to Oxfam, just that they're collecting them in participating M&S stores.

Incidentally, whilst the vouchers from Oxfam shops are valid for the current calendar month, I noticed an advert for this M&S promotion in the Evening Standard which said in the small print that these ones from M&S stores will be valid for longer - until the end of April 2011!
