Debts have got to go!

I have been trying to get myself debt-free for a long time. Nearly made it a few years ago but then had a baby (now 4 years old) and fell back into the quagmire!
Last summer I was made redundant. Although I found a new job immediately it is half my old salary - still getting used to that but covering all the necessary bills at present. My partner is on the verge of losing his job (long story that I won't go into). Hopefully he will get a new one but I have been scared sideways by the idea of being the sole income bringer for the three of us.
I have 3 credit cards to pay off ... and I am determined to do it sooner rather than later.
Not 100% sure where to start but have been reading this board and hope that with a little support I will find a way out of the debt trap for good.

Hey, beansoup, and welcome
Smile, you just landed in one of the best places on the net for driving away the debts!
You wanted to know where to start, might I suggest the following thread?

You will find a lot of good, basic advice there, and a link to our favourite Statement of Affairs calculator - this will help you produce an accurate picture of your monthly income and spending, and if you post it here when you have filled it out you will get some solid advice on where you can save money and how to tackle your debts

Thank you, Jes. I will work through that over the weekend.
I may not have solved anything yet, but just reading through advice and stories on this forum has already made me feel calmer.0 -
Well done on taking the first step to sorting it out.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0
