Credit Reference Agencies

Hi all,

We have been inudated with loan companies offering us small amounts with BIG charges. One of these companies said that our mortgage doesn't show on our credit report but we know it does. When we logged in to Experian to see what checks have been made against our reports we have discovered none and also confirmed that our mortgage is indeed on there. My question is this, can the two leading agencies have conflicting information and why aren't the searches appearing on Experian?

THanks,

DM

Yes the 3 credit reference agencies often have different information. Not all of your creditors will report to all 3 CRAs (some report just to 1).

Searches are also often only done against 1 CRA so this could be why any searches you have authorised recently do not show on experian.

Of course the other option if these are unsolicited calls is that they are lying muppets who have never seen your credit file (if you haven't given them permission) and so have no idea whether your mortgage appears or not........
