Just as I'm sorting my finances ...

I need to get new heating or what I have looked at. I can't handle the freezing flat any longer. It was going to be one of the first things I got done once I had saved some money anyway. Guess I'll just have to do one more thing on credit :(

At least I'm in the right frame of mind to get it paid off quickly.

  • Hi Sammz,

When I owned my flat I paid out for heating, on credit, but it did end up saving me a fortune, so I was really glad I did it. I'd had a bill the previous winter for 1 month at £300!! I only had plug in electric heaters. If you are committed to paying if off and don't use any dodgy credit schemes the salesmen will try to sell you, then go for it.

I expect it will save me a fortune in the long run. The storage heater just takes the nip out of the air so I still use an oil filled radiator to get some heat. Even then it's only heating half of the room! It was easy to forget how bad it was last year but I'm depressed and confined to one room at night so it's just not worth leaving things as they are.

I've got over £3k left on my 0% credit card so that will come in handy.
