Council planning to swap pupils from one school to another
I live in South Ayrshire, and last week heard that the council planned to swap the sites of 2 schools. My kids go to one of the schools, and most of the kids there walk to school. The school where it is proposed they move to is about 2 miles away, a Catholic school, which is very run down. The kids there are bussed in from various locations.
The school roll at my kids' school is expected to increase, and the Catholic school can take about 130 more pupils.
I just wondered if anybody had ever heard of councils doing this, or attempting to do this, as it seems totally disruptive.

It may look sensible on paper but they never think of the kids do they, I don't see any reason for separate schools depending on your religion anyway but that's another issue....
Good luck getting this stopped !0 -
Just an update. Council have scrapped the plans to swap schools, with no reason given. Phew!0
