Hi all,
haven't posted in a while. I have been busy with various things and to be honest a bit lax with things, although soldiering on with paying things off.
I have received a letter from Barclays today (17th March) dated 14th March stating that they will be reducing my credit limit to £1650. It was £1800.
I can't seem to find the terms and conditions but it was my understanding that they were meant to give advance notice of any reduction in the credit limit - or am I wrong?
Usually I just pay this card each month and don't use it (anything between £50 to £60 a month) since I balance transferred £2000 (my original credit limit) onto it a few years ago.
To top it all I now need to start paying my student loan as the lower limit has dropped by £50 a month this year!!!
Also I don't usually use the card as I say but decided this month to slow stooze a bit of cash so I had more to pay another card off.
Anyone have any advice? Are they allowed to only give three days notice?

Does the letter actually state what date they will reduce your limit from? or does it say with immediate effect?

Hi Tixy, thanks for the response.
It says "effective from 17th March 2011". The letter is dated 14th March 2011. Doesn't say three days notice but that is what it is effectively.Total debt at lightbulb moment (Jan 2010): £23410
