Ideas for Making/Getting Money Req'd as I've run out
mummymoments
Hello me again,
Well I have given up with OH facing up to his debts and having his lightbulb moment (see SOA and HELP - Full Time mum with nearly £7,000 debt in previous posts for full saga) for now and decided to concentrate on trying to clear my own credit cards and overdraft debts to hopefully make him see how much better off we will be with them gone!!!
I think I have been making a real effort to get started but am now running out of ways I can get some more cash so thought I'd turn to you fantastic peeps for more ideas. Any ways to get/earn/save a few quid to go towards these debts would be soooo much appreciated. I am willing to try almost anything (as long as I don't have to sell my children, body(although I don't think that even if I was willing anybody would want it at the minute!!!!) and its got to be legal.
Heres my situation:-
I have a three year old little girl whom I love dearly and am a full time mum too. She goes to pre school every morning from 9am - 11.30 (except Thurs) and am currently 21 weeks pregnant with our second child (who is making me feel very ill at the moment!). The closest family I have to me are living over 70 miles away as we have just moved to a tiny little village in the middle of almost nowhere (apart from about 4 other tiny little villages being close by) so cannot rely on them to babysit whilst I work. My hubby also works shifts and O/T including most weekends so cannot rely on him to regularaly look after her either.
I have tried Avon but unfortunately everybody who is in the village who is interested already has a rep or buys direct from the internet and there is already an Usborne books rep for this area.
I have started selling bits and pieces which I no longer want on Ebay and so far have made about £85 from this (which is great - and I am frantically searching for more things to list). I have also approached reps via the Avon website about buying some of my old stock which I found when I moved (this has raised about £90 and not cost me a penny in fees apart from my time so I'm well impressed with this idea but unfortunately I am now running out of things/interest for the items I have left)
I have done a craft fair (as I make hand made soaps and cards and other bath & body items) last weekend from which I took £80 (not much for a whole weekends work but better than a kick in the teeth for things which I had lying about the house already) and am now looking for more in the area.
I have also opened up a website shop on a site called wahmall.co.uk which I came across by accident but has very low fees so is only costing me £8 pm but I can cancel at anytime so I thought this was worth trying over the christmas period seeing as £6 covers everything and I can hopefully sell as many things as I want with no further fees than the £8.
I have also signed up to Quidco (£45), Cioa (£6.57), Pigsback (£9.10) and a few other paid survey sites together with being registered with a mystery shopping site (I have carried out two assignments and am just awaiting my £20 payment for these).
However I really want to do more as I am determined to show the OH (and me) that I can do it and so any ideas would be most gratefully rec'd. I'm sure that you must have some great ideas out there so please (pretty, pretty please) share them with me and help me get out of debt asap.
As I said I would consider anything - I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty, work hard and if necessary play even harder!!!
Thanks sooooo much.

Can you get a weekend job, like a bar job? i start at 6-7 and finish by 12 so OH harly has to lift a finger with the kids, saves paying a childminder too. I take home around £72 for 2 nights work + £8ish tips (i take the money when i get offered a drink)
Also now would be the time to ask for christmas shifts......even if its not permanant and only for a few weeks you could easily make a couple hundred by january0 -

Is AQA recruiting at the mo?
what about a part time job in the mornings? Cleaning, home care? Shopping, part time job in one of the local schools/ drs or something?
There will be more to be made from quidco ( 25 for a savings account with cahoot, all the dvd rentals) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hi and well done for your efforts so far!
I've just signed up to Quidco and Pigsback for my OH to maximise what I can get for free clicks. Make sure you do shopping searches via Quidco on Kelkoo and High Street Web every day- this gets me 36p between me + OH- pennies I know but I'm sure you'll agree with me that every little helps.
Mystery shopping is good and someone has already mentioned doing ironing- I've done this before and it's a nice little bit of pocket money.
I've read your other threads and I'm sorry your OH hasn't had his LBM yet. I'm definitely more obsessed than my OH so I sympathise.
I'll post again if I have any brainwaves.

Have your thought about Virgin Vie? I know you can also have a web site with them as well for your area0

Have you tried selling your handmade soaps on ebay. You're more likely to sell them on ebay than on that website.
Gift baskets with soap, other bath items will do well near christmas.0 -
Cleaning is pretty lucrative - I get just over £6.50 per hour. Used to take youngest child with me before she started school.I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.
