Hello there,
I have been reading MSE for the last day or so and wanted to say thankyou first and foremost!
My dh and I are in a lot of debt, about £14,000 at last count
anyway, we started a DMP over a year ago and it has worked out well so far.
This last few months were going well, he is working and I was childminding a couple of days a week. Then, suddenly things started to go wrong....my mindee's mum and dad were having problems and I was very quickly out of work
I got job hunting straight away but it's hard to find work that fits around my dh's hours...
I started last week in a job...it's not the best and doesn't pay much but hey, it fits around his hours and I can get more money p/h than chidminding.
The few weeks I went without my earnings have really set us back though and we will need to claw our way back up.
We have found ourselves, for the first time in a while, unable to cover everything essential.
So, it's time for action.
I will be doing a budget later on(an updated one...as the old one is now irrelevant) and am planning to start cooking from scratch again.
I am also ashamed to say that I still have a credit card that wasn't included in the DMP
....it's not great and I have used it in the last couple of months and now they ae chasing me for money
I was supposed to pay them some money this week but I didn't get paid as much as I thought and I can't. I am dreading the phonecalls starting again but it's my own fault.
It's all a mess
Editted to add..and I've just posted this in the wrong topic...I can't seem to do anything right...sorry.

 Welcome to MSE. A Board Guide will sort this out for you.
As soon as you are able, post your statement of financial affairs on the DFW Board. There is a 'sticky' at the top of the board from Southern Scouser which will help you work it out. Look forward to seeing you there.'You can't change the past, you can only change the future' Gary Boulet.

Now shifted to DFW, good luck to the OP and welcome to MSE

mornign there OP

The first thing I suggest is finding out EXACTLY how much you owe to this Credit card and cutting the rascal up. Youll never get anywhere while relying on the debt
I also suggest you have a good root through the cupbaords, freezer, bathroom cabinet dresser etc to get a full picture of what youve got in and how long you can stretch it out for.
Also if you have a coppper jar- count this up too- and get down the bank and get it paid off your credit card. Even if its only a tiny amount, then even so, worth doing.
In any case the first thing to do is to do an SOA ( use martins budget planner and Southern Scousers sticky -FIRST TIME POSTERS
Big welcome, dont worry we will offer any help we can, weve all been where you are and most of us are coming out the other side significantly happier :j:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
