Partner off sick for a month - are we entitled to any benefits?

Hi I hope somebody can help, my partner is currently suffering from 2 slipped discs in her back and is struggling at work. She has been suffering from it for a few months and has needed to take a number of days of work but the problem is that she only gets statutory sick pay and we cant afford to live on this. She has had a meeting at work today and they want her to take a month off work to recover as they have seen that she is struggling a lot more since she has gone back to work, she works in a nursery so there arent any other duties she can do.
Are there any benefits we can claim for the month that she has to take off in order for us to cope as we cannot afford to live on m wages alone. I think a call to Citizens Advice is needed but I would appreciate any other advice if possible.

Are you working? What is your income? Do you rent?
You may be able to claim benefits such Council Tax Benefit, Housing Benefit, Income Support but it will depend on your household income and circumstances

Yes i work and I currently take home about £200 per week, we rent a home from a private landlord.
Ive done a caluclation on the direct.gov.uk site and it says we might be eligible for working tax credit so I think that might be the next option.
Im waiting on someone from the local Citizens Advice bureau to call back to give me some advice.0
