we live in birmingham don't mind the distance just need to entertain 4 kids, aged 3,9,12,14 would have liked somewhere in cornwall as it seems to be a bit warmer there in the summer but it doesn't seem available:(

Have you thought about Caister in Great Yarmouth??

We went there last year, and it is right on the beach and the clubs there were amazing and they had alot to do for all ages. I would recommend this one to you as it is quite versatile and all your kiddies would have something to do there.

Thanks have just booked four days in Scotland for may half term for £20 pp. Not too bothered about the park as will use it as a base to get around.

Can anyone advise me on Kent/Essex Parks.

Was looking for an August 4 day break, preferably South Coast but the only ones on offer close by are Essex/Kent.

I'm not sure about any of them but if anyone has good reports about a park there I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks.

We have been to Caister in Great Yarmouth, Highfield Grange in Clacton and also Valley Farm in Clacton.

Out of all 3 I would highly rate Caister and Highfields, just for the size of the park and facilities there. Valley farm is still great fun, but a little smaller. Highfields have a huge Tescos over the road so easy to nip and get some shopping for lunches etc.
Caister in right on the beach, Valley Farm is about a ten min walk to the beach.

My sister had a caravan on Coopers Beach, Mersea Island, and can honestly say that i would not really opt for there as it is a small park and not a huge choice of things to do there.

Im off to Martello Beach in Clacton, in May. First time there, so can't comment yet!! This is my first time through the Daily Mail offer, the rest of the above I paid full price for lol !!

  • We used the previous promotion and have just come back from a weekend in Park resorts Segness. The site is really nice, well maintained, and the entertainment bar has just been refirbished. We took our two dogs and used it as a base for the weekend, Segness itself is a typical English seaside place with cheap food and drink and slot machines, but the beaches are lovely sandy and long and shallow. The surrounding area is great for walking - very flat and good public footpaths. The Tourist info in Segness have many FREE leaflets for circular walks in the surrounding area, we tried 3 - some had sites which with two Labs were not as good as they could have been, but excellent weekend for £40 + £2.50 booking fee + £18 Services + £60 for the dogs!! (Dogs cost more than people!!!LOL). If you go for a Bronze Caravan take a heater with and a multi- point extension lead! There isn't any heating in the bedrooms and limited power sockets.
