Wedding Venue Contract

I asked our wedding planner for a contract and all I got one a couple of lines that said they would honour all prices as discussed in our emails. This is fine, but it doesnt say anything about anything else!!!

Has anyone got a copy of a contract they would let me have please so that I can go back and say - actually this is what I want!

I'm sure that everything will be ok, but there is always the thought of them being able to pull out etc without notice - as I dont have anything in writing.

Can you even get wedding insurance without a contract??

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi,

Haven't got our wedding insurance yet as we have only paid a small deposit to the wedding planner in Lindos, but I didn't notice anywhere on the site when I priced it up that said you needed a contract. Suppose it could have been in the small print somewhere, must go look.

You should definitely have some sort of Terms and Conditions surely?

A quick google has brought this one up

Thats what I thought, but there is nothing. She has said that there is a new brochure coming out soon, which I assume will have said T&C in, but I havent got one.

I will have a look at the attachments and print them out. I think I might need something a bit more concrete than her word!

Can you print out the emails you do have, take them to her, and get her to sign, date and company stamp them, if nothing else it is a starting point, but I am not sure in a court of law if they would stand up.

    Good luck

Perhaps while you are waiting for the venue to sort out something in writing you should make sure you have copies of the emails where they discuss price so you have something definate from the venue should there be a later query.

  • Ts&cs I have include cancellations (how much of your deposit you will get back 3, 6, 9 months before if you cancel & what happens if they have to cancel), when payment is due & how, plus the usual damage to property etc clauses.

I'd certainly want payment & cancellation terms in writing. I think that if anything happened, the emails would hold up (as courts favour people over businesses from what I hear - plus it is a wriiten agreement, even if not a specific contract)

Not sure what your insurance would sau - call them to ask. HTH
