my mess!

well just checked my credit score which is very poor, score of 401 :(

Debts
hfc- £2,297
first direct- £658
blackhorse- £8440
i have 2 defaults on my account on from hfc and one from mint which i settled in 2008!!

Also i have a debt for capquest for £4000 which strangly wasnt on my credit score report but i know i have as it went from capital one to capquest!!!

Need to try wipe thease debts, i can only afford £145.00 a month on thease debts and worked out on snow ball that my debts will be paid by 2019/2020,
was thinking that maybe when i have paid off a debt and normally when you snowball you put that money on the netx debt, i was thinking maybe save that money then once i got a wedge then get intouch and off an amount to settle it then would pay off quicker!!

  • Hello, maybe post a SOA together with the APR's for your debt and people can make some suggestions for you?

As for the default, that remains on file for 6 years of the default date.

Pay this extra £9 towards the debt that is charging the highest interest - even small overpayments will reduce the amount you pay back, and mean your DFD is sooner

    Debt-free and Proud!
Hi, according to Equifax your score is just on the edge of Fair to Good. so doesnt seem so bad?

After reading your earlier post i decided to bite the bullet and get mine.. and it says im on "fair" but i can see its my late payments in 2007/8 which have caused this..

Anyhow, thanks for your post as it kicked me into gear!

You need to check all 3 of the CRA's (credit ref. agencies) because they all hold different data. Annoying isn't it. But anyway the good news is the absolute most this should cost you is £2 a file. Everything a lender could possibly see about you is on that £2 file by law. The other good news is that a lender wont see your "score" the CRA's only do it as a sort of hypothetical excercise, it doesn't even get shown to the lenders at all, bit pointless really IMO.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(
  • no worries, i managed to freeze all my debts so what i pay off my debts is pure debt but only £45.00 a month off £14,000 which is lot, gonna take 9/10 years!!!
the small debt of £580 has intrest which is normally £4 a month i pay £25.00 so paying £21.00 after the intrest, but gonna try wack as much on a possible to get that one down then save the money i was paying out aswell as other money and then once got £1000 or soemt try ringing other debt to offer so much then get bit of a discount!!
